At the Johnston Farm & Indian Agency we are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers with a love of history and a desire to share it with the public. Our current volunteers range in age from 6 to more than 60, so all are welcome. You can volunteer every week, or a few days a month, or just join us for special events suited to your time and talents.
The Johnston Farm & Indian Agency is host to nearly 2000 school children a year. Volunteers work with the children in small groups and generally donate one day of their time a week. For special events a small amount of preparation time may be involved, but most volunteers are needed for the event days only. During the summer months, if you like to dress up and know, or would like to learn a pioneer skill, you can come out on a regular basis to assist us with presenting the public with a realistic and fun view of what life wa like on an Indian Agency in the early to id 1800s. We are also looking for individuals who like to go out and meet the public to assist with fundraising and promotion of the site.
For more information regarding volunteering please use the form on our contact page, or email Andy Hite, the site manager at firstname.lastname@example.org You can also call Andy at 937.773.2522 or toll free at 800.752.2619
