Imagine your family taking a lazy summer ride on a 1830s canal boat pulled by real mules; stepping back in time so your children can experience how their pioneer ancestors lived nearly two hundred years before. Or maybe you’d rather just sip a cola and watch an historic baseball game, have a picnic, or take a walk on a stretch of cool green grass as you listen to birdsong.
Now, imagine, if you couldn’t!
If you are like me, preserving America’s historic past for our children is important. I’d like to offer you a way to do so by becoming a Charter Member of the Johnston Farm Friends Council 1804 Society. In this way you will ensure that The Johnston Farm & Indian Agency, Ohio’s most-visited historic site, continues to remain strong and viable.
The Johnston Farm & Indian Agency honors the life and accomplishments of Col. John Johnston, who realized his dream of purchasing the property he called his ’Upper Piqua Farm’ in 1804. It is a significant asset to the Miami Valley, delivering educational programs and services, generating local revenue, providing opportunities for those interested in early Ohio pioneers, archaeology, canal history, Native American culture, and attracting visitors from near and far.
As an inaugural 1804 Society Charter Member, you join many other community leaders who value our history and are making a tax-deductible gift of $1,804 to preserve the Upper Piqua Farm site now and in the future.
I think you will agree that the historic community is enhanced significantly by The Johnston Farm & Indian Agency where visitors can step into Ohio’s rich past. As a Charter Member of the 1804 Society you will ensure that it continues to flourish as a signature Ohio historic site.
Please consider becoming an inaugural 1804 SocietyCharter Member.
To recognize your commitment to preserving our site’s unique past and to express our appreciation and honor your thoughtful generosity, your name will be added to this 1804 Society plaque that will be on display at the Indian Museum for generations to come.

Thank you for your time and consideration of this invitation to become an 1804 Society Charter Member for an initial donation of $1,804.00. Please consider visiting us to see how your membership can make a difference!
